Synchrony Asset Management SA is an independent Swiss asset manager, based in Geneva and Zurich, specialising in asset management for institutional, professional and private clients through the Synchrony fund range and tailor-made mandates.

Wholly owned by the Banque Cantonale de Genève (BCGE), Synchrony Asset Management SA combines the agility of a specialised entity with the strength of a leading group, offering our clients the security of a lasting partner and the responsiveness of a dedicated structure. Assets under management exceed CHF 8 billion, driven by a team of 20 experts.

Our

story

Since its creation in 1991, Synchrony Asset Management SA has pursued an innovative path, with the launch of the first optimised index-tracking funds in Switzerland. An initiative marking the beginnings of an expertise destined to become a pillar of its development in indexing and, more broadly, in asset management.

Over the years, the teams developed a proprietary systematic model applied to equities and bonds. Its foundations, proven over time, remain at the heart of the investment strategies today.

In 2006, the development of an active conviction management capability dedicated to Swiss equities took shape with the launch of an investment fund invested in the small and medium-sized companies of the SPI® Extra benchmark index.

In 2008, the activities of Synchrony Asset Management SA were internalised under the BCGE Asset Management brand, marking a new stage of structuring and development.

To complement and enrich its range of expertise, BCGE Asset Management acquired Loyal Finance AG in 2019, a Zurich-based company recognised for its fixed-income know-how.

From 2025, the innovation momentum accelerated with the arrival of a team specialising in active systematic management, backed by nearly ten years of proven results. We also crossed a major technological milestone through the development of advanced investment models, based on machine learning to capture new sources of alpha on international equities.

In 2026, this evolution culminated in the rebirth of Synchrony Asset Management SA, an independent entity uniting all areas of expertise: conviction management in Swiss equities and real estate, active and passive systematic management, and recognised fixed-income expertise — all carried by the Synchrony fund range and dedicated mandates.

Katia Coudray

Chief Executive Officer

Holder of a bachelor's degree in business economics from the HES-SO Valais, of the CIIA, of an Advanced Management Program from IMD Lausanne and of the Independent Director Certification from the Swiss Board Institute.

Katia Coudray held various senior positions at renowned banks before joining the BCGE group in 2024 as a member of executive management, in charge of the Private Banking & Asset Management division.

In 2026, in addition to her activities at BCGE, she was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Synchrony Asset Management SA.

Bruce Crochat

Deputy Chief Executive Officer & Head of Swiss Equities and Real Estate

Holder of a master's degree in finance from HEC Geneva and HEC Lausanne and a CFA® charterholder.Bruce Crochat began his career in asset management in 2010 at IAM SA as analyst and manager of the European equities fund.

He joined the BCGE Asset Management department in 2016 as a Swiss equities fund manager before taking charge of the Institutional Portfolio Management department. In 2024, he became head of BCGE Asset Management.

In 2026, he was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Synchrony Asset Management SA.

Guido Bolliger

Head of Systematic Investments

Holder of a PhD in finance from the University of Neuchâtel and the Swiss Finance Institute. Guido Bolliger has held several senior positions in various banking institutions (CIO / Head of Quantitative Strategies). He is also a full professor of finance at the University of Neuchâtel.

He joined Loyal Finance SA in October 2025 as a quantitative fund manager. He brings more than 25 years of experience in designing and managing systematic investment strategies.

In 2026, he was appointed to the management of Synchrony Asset Management SA as Head of Systematic Management.

Bernhard Urech

Head of Fixed Income

Holder of a degree in economics from the University of Zurich and a CFA® charterholder.Bernhard Urech began his career in 1994 at Clariden Leu in bond trading. In 2002, he specialised in asset management and was appointed head of a team of bond portfolio managers.

He joined Loyal Finance AG (a BCGE subsidiary) in 2019 as Senior Portfolio Manager. In 2021, he was appointed CEO.

In 2026, he was appointed to the management of Synchrony Asset Management SA as Head of Fixed-Income Management.

Ingo Bionda

Head of Product Development

Holder of a Master's in international relations (IUHEI Geneva) and an MBA (HEC Geneva), Ingo Bionda began his career in 2001 at J.P. Morgan in fund operations.

After an experience in industry, he returned to the financial sector in 2011. He joined BCGE Asset Management in 2014, where he held several functions, notably in staff roles, wholesale clientele and product development.

In 2026, he was appointed to the management of Synchrony Asset Management SA as Head of Product Development.

Melina Barras Cave

Head of Business Development

Holder of Master’s degree in International Relations from the HEI University Institute in Geneva, as well as the Certified European Financial Analyst (CFPI/AZEK) qualification; she is also a certified Wealth Management Advisor (CWMA/SAQ).

Melina has over 25 years’ experience gained at Pictet Bank in the Asset Management and Private Banking sectors, where she focused on developing a Swiss client base comprising both institutional and private clients.

In September 2026, she joined the management team at Synchrony Asset Management as Head of Business Development.

Katia Coudray
